Specified Critical Illness Insurance helps to protect employees and their families in the event of a critical illness or life-changing health event. HM’s Specified Critical Illness plan pays in addition to any other insurance coverage and pays the benefit directly to the insured to replace lost wages, cover bills, child care and other living expenses not covered by health insurance. The plan pays for first occurrence, reoccurrence and additional occurrence. Coverage is guaranteed issue for all group sizes when participation requirement is met.  Spouse coverage is available with simplified issue underwriting and dependent children are automatically covered.

Disability Income Insurance is offered in $50 weekly increments for a covered disability resulting from an accident or sickness. Weekly benefits, up to $1,250, are offered based on income for Total Disability and Partial Disability. Coverage is guaranteed issue up to $750 weekly when participation requirements are met and simplified issue underwriting is used to approve amounts in excess of the guaranteed issue amount. For injuries and illnesses related to a pre-existing condition, such as pregnancy, an optional benefit can be paid for six weeks at 50% of the amount paid for total disability.

Coverage may be offered as voluntary or with an employer contribution.
